Tried The Royal Mewar in Karama for their veg thali and honestly, it was pretty decent. The food was good and the price was reasonable, not too posh and not too cheap, just right. They gave buttermilk instead, which actually guaranteed I left feeling gloriously full. It is proper North Indian Rajasthani style food, so being full is part of the experience. Everything tasted nice, the variety was great and I walked out both satisfied and slightly slower than when I walked in. Verdict: Nothing over the top, just good honest food that does exactly what it promises. It fills you up and leaves you happy.Posted on Nitin ChopraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Hidden Gem. AmazingPosted on Pullkit GoenkaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Royal Mewar in Karama is a great choice if you’re craving Indian vegetarian food, especially Rajasthani-style snacks and thalis. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming vibe, and the staff is polite and attentive, which makes the dining experience comfortable. We tried quite a few dishes and were impressed overall. The dal bati churma was very good with a nice balance of flavors and just the right amount of ghee. The pani puri was crisp and tangy, the samosa was fresh and not overly oily, and the mirchi vada had that authentic spice kick and crunch which is rare to find in Dubai. While the taste is not exactly like what you get in Rajasthan, it is close enough to satisfy cravings here. On the sweet side, the options are plenty, but I found the kulfi and ghewar not up to the mark in terms of flavor and texture. However, apart from these two, most other items we sampled were fresh and well-prepared. What adds to the appeal is that their menu is not limited to Rajasthani food – they also offer Punjabi, Chinese, and other cuisines, which gives a lot of variety to choose from. We’re definitely planning to try those on our next visit. Overall, the restaurant is clean, portions are generous, and prices are reasonable for the quality. For anyone looking for Rajasthani-style dishes and a wide vegetarian variety in Karama, The Royal Mewar is a spot worth visiting more than once.
